Wine Description

Franz Prager, co-founder of the Vinea Wachau, had already earned a reputation for his wines when Toni Bodenstein married into the family. Bodenstein’s passion for biodiversity and old terraces, coupled with brilliant winemaking, puts Prager in the highest echelon of Austrian producers.

Acclaim
“This white has a spicy aroma, with smoky notes to its ripe peach, salted almond and gooseberry flavors. The rich, ripe finish shows hints of melon and lavender.”
— Wine Spectator, Nov 2015
“Lemon and yellow plum marked by pip and pit make for a pithy, piquant core thankfully enveloped in bright juiciness that is free of any overt malic tartness and is augmented by a satiny, lees-enriched texture. The sense of high extract here is palpable, offering a fascinating contrast with the impression of lift engendered by alcohol of 11.9%. This finishes with grip and pizzazz, even if merely modest diversity.”
— Vinous, Feb 2016
