Wine Description

A blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz, this wine comes from two different parcels of land in two different Douro sub-regions at two different altitudes. The grapes are carefully selected and fermented in stainless steel tanks before aging in oak barrels for approximately twelve months.

Acclaim
“The 2019 Tinto is a blend of 40% each of Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional, 20% Tinta Roriz and the rest a field blend from old vines, all aged for 12 months in 30% new French barriques. It comes in at 14.2% alcohol. Sturdy, persistent and solid for its reasonable price range, this adds a little complexity and some bite on the finish. It's fruity but dry and serious. It's almost ready, though, as young as it is. It might still be better at the end of the year. It has some room to improve. It should hold for most of this decade, maybe more, although that won't necessarily be its highest and best use. Overall, this offers considerable bang for the buck, often seeming like a pricier wine given its serious demeanor, precision and craftsmanship. This has been a consistent performer in a reasonable price range.”
— Wine Advocate, Feb 2022
“Crisp, textured and fruity, this wine is immediately bright and attractive. There is a fine tang of acidity allied to freshness and lemon-juice flavors. The wine’s wood aging has broadened its texture and added attractive toastiness.”
