Known for producing reds of great depth and character, Carl Linder’s 80 year old Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard in Barossa is the source for Raconteur. These old vines are hand harvested and made using traditional techniques by Vinaceous contract winemaker Elena Brooks of Dandelion Vineyards.
The grapes were handpicked and open fermented, 10% whole bunches. After open fermentation, the grapes were basket pressed into 25% new oak barrels (French and American) to finish fermenting. Maturation took place for 14 to 16 months in the same oak.
Rich and deep purple with bright hues, this wine bursts with aromas of violets, blackberry and mocha. Varying notes of ripe, fleshy black currants and cassis tocrisp sour cherries compliment the palate with intensity, weight, structure and texture.
