This exuberant white wine is named Solosole ("just sunshine" in Italian) because only the sun is allowed to influence the grapes’ aromas. Made entirely from Vermentino, the grapes are harvested at a level of perfect ripeness when they turn an intense golden color, and, indeed, look like little suns. There is no blending with other varieties, nor is there any wood aging to interfere with the exotic flavors of this grape; the goal in making this wine is to deliver a pure expression of this sun-kissed region.
Youthful lemon-gold in color, Solosole offers vibrant aromas of apricot, white peaches, acacia flowers, and ripe melon. On the palate, it is substantially flavorful and rich, yet also refreshingly crisp and zesty.
This is the wine of choice for seafood antipasti, pasta with shellfish, ceviche, flavorful fish dishes, or vegetable quiches.
