Tramin Unterebner

Unterebner Pinot Grigio Alto Adige DOC bottle image

Wine Description

Not your average Pinot Grigio! Made from 100% single-vineyard Pinot Grigio from the Unterebner plot. The grapes for this wine are rigorously selected. 40% of the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in barriques for six to seven months, and 60% is refined in large oak casks. Unterebner is incredibly rich, refined and elegant.

Acclaim
Pale green-tinged straw-yellow color. Highly perfumed nose of green apple, pear and chamomile, with hints of honey and wet stones. White stone fruit flavors abound in the mouth and are nicely lifted by harmonious, ripe acidity that gives this wine spectacular definition and verve. Exceptionally elegant and refined pinot grigio, this has amazing balance and finishes clean, crisp and very long. This is Italy's benchmark as far as stainless steel-aged pinot grigio goes.
— International Wine Cellar, Apr 2008
“Bright golden yellow. Herbal and mineral nuances complement apple, pear and honey aromas and flavors. Rich, dense and smooth, with racy acidity leaving a mouth-watering quality behind and really extending the flavors on the long back end. The 2006 vintage in Termeno was better than in other parts of Alto Adige and was characterized by especially ripe grapes.”
— Ian D’Agata, Mar 2017
