Suavia Massifitti

Massifitti Bianco Veronese IGT bottle image

Wine Description

Fittà is the name of the ancient village where Suavia is based.  It derives from the Latin word, “fictus,” meaning, “driven-in,” which refers to the masses of columnar basalt that are naturally found in the area and appear to have been driven into the ground.  The name, Massifitti, translates roughly as, “embedded masses” and pays tribute to this aspect of the local area.  Made from 100% Trebbiano di Soave, Massifitti is fermented in stainless steel tanks following a 24-hour cold soak maceration.   It is then refined for another six months in tank.

Acclaim
“This is layered and very dense yet bright and vivid. Lots of dried-apple and pear character. Full-bodied, flavorful and intense. Plenty of cooked apples and pears at the end.”
— James Suckling, Nov 2021
“From an estate run by two sisters, this wine has a soft bouquet of juicy nectarine, honeysuckle and lily of the valley (and it’s so heavenly, we’d consider wearing it as a perfume). Sip it on a warm spring evening with antipasto, soft-shell crab and fresh pea risotto. Salud.”
