Wine Description

Weingut Stadt Krems was originally founded by the city of Krems in 1452 to support a local hospital for city residents. With over 550 years of history, Weingut Stadt Krems is one of the oldest wine producers in Europe.  Since July 2003, the estate is managed by a young, innovated team directed by Fritz Miesbauer.  The flagships are Riesling and Gruner Veltliner (over 90%).

Acclaim
“The 2016 Steiner Ried Grillenparz 1ÖTW Kremstal Riesling (tasted as a sample in late June 2017), opens with a clear, fresh, very deep and pure but ripe and complex nose of crushed stones and perfectly ripe Riesling berries. Full-bodied, round and very juicy, this is an almost sweetish but firmly structured and racy Grillenparz with a long, dense, highly aromatic finish and nice grip. This is still a baby and needs several years to show all its talents with more finesse and relaxation but it is very long and promising.”
