Allan Scott Family Winemakers vineyards are largely planted on the stony, free-draining mid-Wairau Valley River flats. The vineyards are sustainably managed, and with the care given during the growing season produce some of the world's greatest wines. The wines tend to be beautifully structured, with lighter aromatics than expected off the heavier clay soils of the lower Wairau plain.

Grüner Veltliner is the signature grape of Austria and produces a dry white wine with savory aromas, spicy flavors, and good acidity. Grüner Veltliner Smaragd from the Wachau is a full-bodied wine and is rich in style with notes of stone fruit, lemon, radish, and arugula.

Grüner Veltliner’s bright acidity and savory character make it an ideal partner to mildly spiced Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese flavors.
