Passadouro Reserva is made from a field blend of the schistous, 70-year-old Passadouro vineyard. The blend comprises over 30 indigenous varieties including Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and Touriga Nacional. The grapes are foot-trodden and fermented in a traditional granite lagar and aged in 50% new French oak for 18 months. The exceptional quality of this wine earned its “reserva” designation from Douro’s wine regulation body, the Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e Porto (IVDP).
Deep purple in color, this wine features intense aromas of black fruit and spice. The palate is rich yet balanced with firm tannins, impressive concentration, and a long finish.
Pair with roast lamb, wild boar ragu, or venison.
