Pico Maccario Barolo

Pico Maccario Barolo

Wine Description

Brothers Pico and Vitaliano created the Pico Maccario brand in 1997 following four generations of selling the family grapes to other producers. Purity and balance is the goal of every Pico Maccario wine. Pico Maccario Nebbiolo grows in the Comune of Serralunga d'Alba, one of the highest vineyards in terms of altitude, in the district of the Barolo DOCG, around 350 meters from sea level.

Harvest takes place during the first week of October. Grapes are hand picked, followed by a delicate destemming and crushing process. Traditional vinification and maturation, for at least 15 - 18 days, follows with a gentle wetting of the cap.
