Saint Cosme Crozes Hermitage

Crozes Hermitage bottle image

Wine Description

St. Cosme Crozes Hermitage is a multidimensional Syrah sourced from the granitic slopes of the Erôme, Gervans and Larnage vineyards. Unlike it's distant cousin from the North, Côte-Rôtie, the Crozes Hermitage enjoys a Mediterranean influence with quite a bit of sun and ample rain.  Elements that are wholeheartedly identifiable in the glass.

Acclaim
“Bright violet. Lively, mineral-laced dark berry aromas are complicated by hints of floral oils and peppery spices. Silky and seamless on the palate, offering gently sweet black raspberry and violet pastille flavors that become deeper and fleshier with air. Sappy and graceful in character, closing with strong thrust and silky tannins.” 91-93 points
— Vinous, Mar 2016
“Bright violet. A complex bouquet evokes fresh dark berries, incense, smoky minerals and black pepper. Juicy, appealingly sweet and focused on the palate, offering cherry compote, boysenberry and floral pastille flavors that turn deeper and spicier on the back half. Closes juicy and very long; fine-grained tannins add gentle grip and focus.”
— Josh Raynolds, Jul 2017
