Catena Zapata Adrianna Vineyard White Stones

Catena Zapata White Stones Chardonnay bottle image

Wine Description

White Stones Chardonnay comes from a select 27 rows within Block 1 of the Adrianna Vineyard. The wine is then fermented in French oak barrels at low temperatures to preserve the aromatics. A little over two-thirds of the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation. The name refers to the gravelly ground beneath the vines, which is covered with oval, white stones.

Acclaim
“The aromas to this are very impressive with a dried fruits, stone and tangy lemon rind character. Hints of caramel too. Full body, layered and long.”
— James Suckling, May 2016
BEST WHITES OF THE YEAR/BEST CHARDONNAYS OF THE YEAR: “Firm, with radically intense acidity and fruit subjugated to the force of the mineral notes.”
— Patricio Tapia, Jun 2017
