Carmione 2014

Carmione is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. In contrast to other Tuscan wine regions, the Carmignano appellation has been planted to these international varieties for nearly two centuries. Carmione is not only considered Pratesi’s top tier red, but is also a great example of the outstanding results that these varieties can achieve in this area.

Tasting Notes

Intense ruby-red in color, Carmione offers arresting aromas of sweet wild berries, cedar, licorice and sweet spices. This is a full-bodied, rich and well-structured wine with concentrated fruit, fine tannins and a persistent finish.

Food Pairing

Powerful and complex, Carmione is excellent with grilled steak, game, ribs and aged cheeses.
