Enrique Mendoza Santa Rosa Reserva

Enrique Mendoza Santa Rosa Reserva

The Santa Rosa Reserva commemorates founder Enrique Mendoza Cortes’ mother, Rosa Cortes Devesa. She instilled in him a passion for grape growing and winemaking that is still evident today. The wine is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 15% Shiraz. The smallest, ripest bunches are specially selected for pressing, and after fermentation the wines spends 18 months in new French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes

A complex wine of intense ruby red color, the nose is very mineral and recalls graphite and freshly farmed land.  These notes intertwine with spicy notes as well as soothing floral notes of violets.  Well balanced in the mouth, it unites power and elegance with a firm tannic charge that is not overly aggressive.  The finish shows smoked and toasted notes added by the time spent in barrel.

Food Pairing

Excellent with aged steaks.
