Four Pillars

Four Pillars is a modern Australian distillery, internationally recognized for producing one of the world’s most awarded and flavor-driven ranges of craft gin.

The distillery’s journey began in 2013, when three friends acquired an extraordinary CARL copper still from Germany — affectionately named Wilma, after the late mother of the head distiller. Over time, Wilma was joined by five sister stills, each named after the mothers of Four Pillars’ founders and longstanding team members: Jude, Eileen, Beth, Coral, and Linda.

Recognition came swiftly. In 2019, only six years after its first batch, Four Pillars was named International Gin Producer of the Year at the IWSC in London — an honor repeated in 2020 and again in 2023. This three-time achievement made Four Pillars the first gin brand in history to claim the title of World’s Best on three separate occasions.

A Distillery Rooted in Place

While gin could be made anywhere, Four Pillars has always believed that place matters. Its home is Australia — a country abundant in sunshine, pristine water, clean air, and fertile soil. With year-round access to fresh citrus and a wealth of unique native botanicals, Four Pillars crafts gins that could only come from this environment. Each spirit reflects both the creativity and hospitality that define modern Australia, delivering bold, flavor-forward gins with a distinctly local character.

Sustainability

Four Pillars has long recognized the environmental demands of distilling and has worked to reduce its impact from the earliest days. What began in 2015 with the transformation of spent Rare Dry Gin oranges into a now-beloved Orange Marmalade has grown into a multi-award-winning sustainability program.

Looking ahead, Four Pillars has committed to reducing carbon emissions by 50% by 2030 through its comprehensive Sustainability Plan — reinforcing its role as both a leader in craft gin and a champion of environmentally responsible distilling.

Location of Distillery

Four Pillars Distillery is located in Healesville, a town in the heart of Victoria’s Yarra Valley — one of Australia’s most beautiful wine regions. The distillery opened in 2015 in a former timber yard on the edge of town and has since expanded into a modern hub for gin making.

Today, the site combines production with hospitality. It houses a tasting room, cocktail bar, and tuck shop offering gin-inspired snacks, as well as a gin garden that provides the perfect setting to enjoy a G&T on a warm Yarra Valley day. Behind the visitor spaces, dedicated production and fulfilment facilities ensure that every bottle of Four Pillars Gin — found in Australia and around the world — is distilled and bottled onsite at Healesville.

The distillery stands as a showcase of Australian gin, reflecting Four Pillars’ ambition to bring the very best of local craft to the global stage.
