Sergio Zenato Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva

Corvina & Corvina-based Blends

This distinguished Amarone is sourced from historic vineyards in Sant’Ambrogio, shaped by a meticulous aging regime that elevates its elegance and complexity. Blessed with age-worthiness and a lengthy list of honors, it stands as a signature expression of Zenato’s heritage in the Valpolicella Classico.

Wine Production

Grapes are harvested in September and October. After harvesting, the grapes are left to dry for around four months in well-ventilated drying lofts. Once they are dried, the withered grapes are pressed, followed by a slow fermentation for 15-20 days on the skins. The wine is then aged for at least four years in large oak casks, followed by refinement in bottle for at least one year.

Tasting Notes

Ruby red in color, this Amarone Riserva offers dense and smokey aromas of dark cherries, raisins, chocolate, and anise, framed by fruity tannins and a spicy finish. With the level of complexity and balance that this wine shows, it will evolve beautifully for 10+ years.

Food Pairing

Perfect with roast meats, game, grilled steak and mature cheeses.
