San Calisto

Montepulciano & Montepulciano-based Blends

The San Calisto vineyard takes its name from the river that flows nearby. A muscular yet refined 100% Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, made from grapes grown in the 62-acre San Calisto parcel, the oldest plot in the Valle Reale estate planted in 1975. Located within one of Italy's most beautiful national parks, this unique vineyard benefits from the influence of the river, the area’s wild vegetation, and the surrounding mountains.

Tasting Notes

Deep, ruby-red in color, San Calisto offers layers of ripe blackberries and crushed cherries, followed by spicy notes of cassis, leather and dried herbs. The solid body and the jammy texture are perfectly framed by silky tannins and a persistent finish. T

Food Pairing

San Calisto is excellent with sharp cheeses, barbecued ribs, lamb, filet mignon or steak au poivre.
