A light, refreshing, flinty effort is the 1998 Nozze d'Oro. Although no Sauvignon is in the blend, it could easily pass for one. A light straw color is accompanied by crisp, medium-bodied, citrusy, lemon-like flavors and a clean, pure finish.
Tasca d'Almerita - Wine Advocate
Regaleali Nero d'Avola Sicilia IGT
The 1998 Regaleali Rosso is a good value, offering straightforward blackberry and cherry fruit, dried herbs, earth, and spice.[...] It is light to medium-bodied red that can be served slightly chilled over the next several years.
[A] dense, murky ruby/purple color is followed by aromas of melted Valrohona chocolate, blackberries, smoke, and toast. Rich and full-bodied, with superb concentration, a seamless texture, low acidity, and a 40+ second finish, this huge, full-bodied wine should drink well for a decade.
[P]rofound.[...] An opaque purple-colored, powerful, enormously-endowed effort, it offers gorgeous black currant, plum, and blackberry characteristics infused with spice box, chocolate, and vanilla. This harmonious wine oozes with extract and glycerin. Extraordinarily pure and impressive with copious tannin nearly hidden beneath the wine's superb richness, this beauty should be at it's apogee between 2004-2020.
