“The 2009 Chianti Classico bursts from the glass with a rush of dark cherries, plums, smoke, tobacco, grilled herbs and leather. The aromas and flavors are quite dark in this layered, imposing Chianti. Sweet, floral notes add lift and an attractive element of brightness on the finish.”
“The 2007 Chianti Classico is quite pretty in this vintage. Plump cherries, white flowers and French oak come together nicely in this dark, sensual Chianti. Hints of sweet tobacco, dried cherries and spices linger on the finish.”
Livernano's 2006 Chianti Classico is yet another beautiful wine from this fabulous Tuscan vintage. The estate interprets their Chianti Classico as 80% Sangiovese and 20% Merlot. There is notable detail to be found in the wild berries, flowers, spices, leather and licorice. Fine tannins support the fruit through to the elegant finish, where scents of French oak linger on the close.
