Tréje Basilicata IGT 2009

Vintages:

Wine Description

Tréje in local dialect means “three,” which refers to the trio of grapes that make up this wine: Aglianico, Merlot, and Syrah.  The grapes are all hand-picked and vinified separately to respect the varietal character of each.  All three are refined in oak casks:  Merlot and Syrah for six months and Aglianico for 12 months.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby-red in color, this wine displays expressive aromas of ripe red currants, blackberries, and luscious plums.  On the palate, it is velvety and well-structured with silky tannins.

Food Pairing

Pair this wine with chicken Cordon Bleu, spicier Bolognese sauces, chorizo, and leitão.
