It is no wonder that the island of
Capri is a popular destination. Accessible from the port of Naples and
Sorrento, the island is only a short distance by ferry or hydrofoil, a
pleasant excursion. Once there, visitors are refreshed by the delicious lemon
perfume in the air, and are captivated by the citrus trees that seem to be
everywhere.
Since 1989, the CapriNatura workshop has been producing Limoncello
following the traditional recipe of alcohol, sugar, water and lemon rinds. In
fact, Rafaele Esposito says this is the same recipe used by his
Great-grandmother Laura, and both of his grandmothers Luisa and Angelina. He
has chosen to follow another example as well: No artificial colors or
preservatives are used in production of CapriNatura Limoncello. Since the
beginning Caprinatura has been a full member of the Terre delle Sirene
consortium, an organization of lemon farmers and producers from Sorrento and
Capri. The consortium is dedicated to the protection of lemon cultivation and
the reputation of the area's products.
This lemon liqueur is an excellent digestif and can be enjoyed in a variety
of ways. Chilled on its own or added in drops to a classic Martini it is
extremely pleasing. Mix it with tonic or iced tea for a refreshing summer
beverage, or add to Prosecco or sparkling wine for an elegant cocktail.
CapriNatura Limoncello is also a wonderful accompaniment to lemon or
strawberry sorbetto, and is exceptional with vanilla gelato.
CapriNatura's packaging is unique and a great source of pride. The
obelisk-shaped bottle is easy to identify and has become the signature of
CapriNatura. Discerning customers have to come to look for it, confident of
the excellent product inside.
