Bordering the Mediterranean, this fine wine region is the most extensive in France. It covers four departments and with 380,000 hectares represents 38% of the total French vineyard area.
The Languedoc-Roussillon produces a large proportion of France's Vins de Table and the majority of its Vins de Pays wines. Producing excellent appellation wines, this region ranks second among French appellation wine regions in terms of area.
