New Zealand's
temperate, maritime climate contributes
|
Mostly located near the coast, New Zealand's vineyards benefit from clear sunlight which warms them by day, and from sea breezes which cool them at night. These ideal growing conditions aid in the production of premium, quality wines with high levels of fruit and varietal intensity. Though the first vines were planted in New Zealand by missionaries 150 years ago, the wines produced there only came to the international wine spotlight during the last decade. Today over 300 vineyards exist in New Zealand's wine growing regions. |
