Wine Description
A 100% Vermentino grown without the aid of pesticides in the pristine Maremma Toscana, which stretches along the coast of southern Tuscany. The maritime climate, the careful fruit selection and six months of fining in barriques, all contribute to a creamy and round Vermentino. The winery uses new French barriques, customized with very light toast, and the batonnage technique to achieve the ideal balance between roundness and freshness. This wine is named after the wind (Vento in Italian) that blows constantly from the coast.
Tasting Notes
As a result of the hot and sunny climate, Vento offers a round, medium-body that is well balanced by the crisp and mineral aromas typical of Vermentino. This combination of softness and freshness allows for a wide range of food pairings. Vento is recommended with sharp cheese, seafood, antipasti, fresh summer vegetables and grilled fish. The Mediterranean aromas of the sea and the Maremma’s countryside can be found in each glass.
