Tasca d'Almerita

Leone d'Almerita IGT Sicilia 2010

Wine Description

Named after Tasca d’Almerita’s coat of arms, Leone is a superbly crafted blend of native Catarratto, smooth Chardonnay and aromatic Traminer and Sauvignon Blanc. To preserve its freshness and fruitiness, the grapes are chill-fermented in stainless steel. Malolactic fermentation is not carried out, and the wine is refined on the lees for four months before bottling.

Tasting Notes

Bright lemon-green in color, Leone offers lovely aromas of pink grapefruit, orange blossom, white peach and pineapple. Fruity with balanced acidity, Leone is best enjoyed with antipasti, fried calamari, spaghetti with clams, roast chicken and vegetables.
