Tasca d'Almerita

Chardonnay IGT Sicilia 2009

Wine Description

A charming wine produced from some of the first Chardonnay vines planted in Sicily in 1985. These vines were (and are) planted in the best soils of Tenuta Regaleali and the resulting wine shows this unique character. The juice is barrel fermented in 70% new and 30% second passage Allier and Tronçais oak barriques for eight months, and then spends six months in bottle.

Tasting Notes

Tasca's Chardonnay is golden in color with fragrant, layered aromas of pineapple, citrus, eggnog, candied fruit and white chocolate. Elegant and supple fruit flavors, along with zesty acidity, give this wine great palate-appeal. This is the wine of choice for rich, creamy risottos or flavorful fish entrees.
