San Polo

Rubio IGT Toscana 2008

Wine Description

Rubio is a young and fresh wine made entirely from Sangiovese Grosso. Fermentation in stainless steel follows a brief but intense period of maceration, which retains all of the fresh fruit character while delivering excellent color and flavor extraction.

Tasting Notes

Brilliant ruby-red with purple hues, this wine has intense aromas of red cherries, violets and currants, followed by a hint of spice. Well-structured and balanced on the palate, Rubio is easy-going and versatile, but also notable for its intensity and elegance. Try it with barbecues, prosciutto, salami, pasta dishes with tomato sauce, grilled sausages and meats and cheeses—a perfect by-the-glass selection.
