Dolcetto d'Alba Falletto DOC 2007

Wine Description

Dolcetto means “little sweet one”, due to the grape’s sweetness at harvest time. It is typically vinified as a dry wine with minimal residual sugar. Made from 100% Dolcetto grapes, this wine is aged in French wooden barrels for six months before it is bottled and held for three months before being released.

Tasting Notes

Dark, ruby red in color with stripes of violet, this wine has hints of almond nuttiness that are intense and winey. On the palate, it is dry and pleasant. To be enjoyed young with medium-aged cheese, pot roast, polenta with sausage, and game meats.

Reviews

Wine Advocate - Issue #179/October 31, 2008

“The 2007 Dolcetto d’Alba Falletto is another relatively forward wine …. [with] more than enough complexity in the dark fruit and balsamic nuances to allow for very fine drinking over the next few years.”
