La Rocca Gavi DOCG 2009

Wine Description

La Rocca Gavi is made from 100% Cortese, a local Piedmont white variety. In order to preserve its zesty fruitiness, the wine is fermented in stainless steel and does not undergo malolactic fermentation. Refined in tanks for three months before bottling, this fresh, flavorful white is ready to be enjoyed upon release.

Tasting Notes

Pale lemon-green in color, La Rocca shows fresh and delicate citrus and floral aromas. On the palate, it is crisp, light, and dry with balanced acidity and a delicate finish. Recommended with antipasti, salads, vegetable-based soups, seafood, and lightly grilled white meats.

Reviews

Wine Advocate - Issue #190/ August 2010
“Italy's Finest Values”
“The 2009 Gavi La Rocca is a pretty, precise white layered with citrus, mint and flowers. It loses a little steam on the mid-palate, but is nevertheless attractive and nicely balanced.”
