Castillo Labastida

Labastida Crianza 2005

Wine Description

Made from 100% Tempranillo grapes harvested manually in October. The wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 9 days and is then aged in American oak barriques for one year. After barrel aging, the wine is further aged for a minimum of six months in bottles.

Tasting Notes

Vibrant and intense cherry red in color, with scents of red fruits, cocoa and licorice. The fruity aromas are more obvious over the more subtle fragrances of the oak. On the palate, the wine tastes of sweetened red fruit and marinated cherries with a somewhat lactic finish. Full and tasty, this wine pairs well with pasta with meat sauce, eggs, lightly cured cheeses and fowl.
