Wine Description
Giacosa's Roero Arneis showcases the delicate side of Piedmont. This white wine is made entirely from indigenous Arneis whose name means 'difficult' or 'stubborn' in the local dialect. In fact, this grape’s delicate skin makes it one of the toughest varietals to grow in Piedmont, but the delightful profile of the final wine makes it worth every ounce of effort.
Tasting Notes
Pale lemon-green in color, Giacosa's Arneis offers subtly layered aromas of apples, pears and peaches with a hint of white flowers. On the palate, the wine is crisp with a light silky texture, leaving an overall impression of elegance. Pair this wine with grilled sole, baked halibut or cod, or linguine with white clam sauce.

“A White in Anticipation of Piedmont: Bruno Giacosa Arneis Roero 2009”
“The 2009, which retails for around $35, is one of the best examples of the grape I have tasted, showing ripe peach, orange and honeysuckle aromas and flavors. It’s rich and fleshy, with a hint of grapefruit peel bitterness that helps to lift the soft texture on the finish. 88 points, non-blind. It was a great teaser to prepare me for the Langhe.”
