Bruno Giacosa

Barbaresco DOCG 2005

Wine Description

Made from 100% Nebbiolo from prestigious vineyards in Barbaresco. Aged in large French oak barrels for 24 months for extra refinement and finesse, this Barbaresco is bottled unfiltered to preserve its supple fruitiness. It is matured for several months in bottle before release from the winery.

Tasting Notes

Giacosa’s renowned Barbaresco is intense ruby red in color, with elegant orange hues on the rim. Violet, black cherry, raspberries, chocolate, cedar, and truffle aromas dominate the nose. This wine is luscious and fragrant with several layers of rich fruit complemented with a touch of licorice on the palate. With smooth tannins surrounding a solid and complex body, this classic Barbaresco is ideal with rich fare such as game, roasted meat, stew and sausages.
