Bisceglia

Gudarrà Aglianico del Vulture DOC 2007

Wine Description

The Bisceglia estate is situated on the lower slopes of the extinct volcano, Mount Vulture, in the historic district of Lavello. Gudarrà, in local dialect, means "to be enjoyed." The name of the wine is a tribute to its concentrated flavors, which beg the drinker to enjoy its youthful vitality. Made with 100% Aglianico grapes, hand-harvested in late October.

Tasting Notes

Gudarrà  is deep ruby-red in color with enticing notes of red cherries, cassis, blackberries, sweet spice and a hint of licorice. This is an accessible, versatile red that pairs beautifully with southern Italian pasta dishes, lamb, grilled or roasted game and ripe, flavorful cheeses.
