Born in Milan, Beniamino currently lives in Gravina in Puglia, a smalltown located in the Province of Bari that enjoys a great reputation for its wines.Beniamino graduated from the University of Bari in 1988 with a Law Degree andand earned a Masters in International Law and Banking Regulation several years later.
In 1992, he began a career as an attorney, but left after a few years so that he could dedicate himself to his family’s various businesses. He is still involved in many of these businesses today-- including a public and civil construction company, a natural materials business, a biological agriculture firm (which he jointly manages with his brother Alberto) and Botromagno, the family winery.
At Botromagno, he fulfills the duties of not only President, but also Public Relations Manager and Export Manager. Beniamino takes great pride in promoting the wines from the territory of Gravina. He is the President of the Managing Committee of “The Roads of Murgia’s DOC wines” and also serves as the President of the Gravina DOC Consortium.
Botromagno was established in 1991, after the D’Agostino family merged with the local cooperative winery, creating the first successful example of a privately owned winery partnered with more than 100 local grape growers. The D’Agostino family has been able to foster a reliable and efficient synergy with the local farmers, based on strict standards for quality grape growing, rapidly becoming one of the finest wineries in Puglia. The winery is located in one of Puglia's most important appellations, the Gravina DOC, named after the town of Gravina in Puglia. The D’Agostinos have been the only ones to invest in the Gravina DOC, recovering the production of this white wine and rebuilding its reputation as an elegant and versatile wine. Today, they boast to be the only producers of the flavorful and refreshing Gravina, which is considered by many to be one of the most exciting whites from Southern Italy.
